It’s True.  You Are A Miracle

Look it up.  There is a lot of proclamation that there is a 1 in 400,000,000,000,000 (yes, that is a big number:  four hundred trillion) chance that you were born.  I have done some digging, and there seems to be a variety of ideas around the math that get one to that extraordinarily BIG number but nonetheless, think about how amazing the odds are of you becoming a human.  Every day people throw money at the chance to win the lottery, and the odds of that happening are a heck of a lot better than 1 in 400,000,000,000,000.  So guess what?  You did win the lottery.  Celebrate that fact, and when you are done celebrating, get grateful and start to appreciate how amazing your life is.

Overcoming The Human Condition

The human condition is all of the characteristics and key events that compose the essentials of human existence, including birth, growth, emotion, aspiration, conflict, and mortality.  The ingredients that make up the human condition are not vast; however, anytime growth, emotion, conflict, and mortality are part of the equation, things can get complicated.  On their face, none of these concepts are particularly complex, but we humans seem to thrive on making some things more difficult than they need to be.  Our brains are wired to help us to survive.  To avoid danger.  We look at much of what we encounter as a possible threat, and our goal is to avoid pain and seek pleasure.  All of which is understandable. However, it has been my experience and observation that we miss out on the simplicity of life. We overlook the simple pleasures when we are not seeking to understand and appreciate how miraculous our lives are.

I invite you to consider that there is no one else like you in the world.  Only you can offer your unique talents and skills to the world.  Instead of spending time comparing yourself to others, start to recognize that you are an important instrument that is genuinely needed for the orchestra of life to sound its very best.  It is time well spent to hone in on how you can best serve others.  What impact will you make because only you can make it?  What difference are you going to make because only you can?  Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, focus on all that you do have.  Instead of being a taker, be a giver.  Remember, you beat the odds.  Step authentically into the miracle that you are!

Stay true and be you —
