Day 20 – Respect

Respect the people you are with.
When you go out for a meal, put your phone down and BE with your friend(s) or family.
Talk to each other. Ask them about their favorite thing about their day/week. Ask them if there is anything you can do for them. Ask them what they are excited about. And then, listen.
It saddens me when I see a couple or a family out for a meal, and everyone is on a device. They barely grunt their order to the waiter; they don’t look at each other and enjoy their company. This is especially troubling when young children are involved. Please don’t give your child a device to entertain them. Do the research; the adverse effects on their little brain are terrifying.
Respect the power of being present. With rare exceptions, nothing is as important as the one you are with. PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN.
