The Queen’s Gambit

Okay, if you haven’t taken time to hunker down with some popcorn and watch The Queen’s Gambit, I highly recommend that you do.  Here is how Wikipedia describes the series:

The Queen’s Gambit is a 2020 American coming-of-age period drama miniseries based on Walter Tevis‘s 1983 novel of the same name. The title refers to “Queen’s Gambit,” a chess opening. It was written and directed by Scott Frank, who created it with Allan Scott. Beginning in the mid-1950s and proceeding into the 1960s, the story follows the life of Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy), an orphaned chess prodigy, on her rise to the top of the chess world while struggling with drug and alcohol dependency.

Netflix released The Queen’s Gambit on October 23, 2020. After four weeks, it had become Netflix’s most-watched scripted miniseries.[1] It was acclaimed by critics, who lauded Taylor-Joy’s performance as well as the cinematography and production values. It has also received a positive response from the chess community, and data suggests that it has increased public interest in the game.[2][3]

The series garnered two Golden Globe Awards nominations,[4] including Best Limited Series or Television Film. For her performance, Anya Taylor-Joy received nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film, the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Movie/Miniseries, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie.

New Year’s Resolutions or Not?

I like the idea of New Year’s Resolutions in concept, but they often don’t get accomplished in reality.  Instead, I am inviting you to consider taking the 21-Day Authenticity Challenge that I created called The Art of Unbecoming.

This course is designed to guide you on a simple, easy-to-follow, and life-changing journey. Each day for 21-days, you will receive an email from me.  Included in the email will be the challenge of the day, along with a short video and downloads for you to print out and complete.

The only equipment you will need to participate is access to your email and a printer.

Here are some choices that you will need to make:

  • You must be willing to “Unbecome” all that you are not. This includes, but is not limited to, unworthy, not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not thin enough, not whatever enough.
  • You must wholeheartedly commit to participating 100% in this program.
  • You must stop making excuses.
  • You must love yourself enough to keep your promises to yourself.
  • You must show up every single day with an open heart and an open mind.
  • You must decide you are ready to create a life that you love.
  • You must invest in yourself.

Your investment to participate in this course is $49 (a special price of $20.21).  Trust me; this will be money well spent.  Decide now that you will devote the next 21-Days to yourself.

Stay true and be you —

Annie
