Day 7 – March Theme: Grateful

Stop.
Right now.
Grab a piece of paper and a pen/pencil.
Now, write down all the things you are grateful for in your life…big or small.
Family
Health
Vocation
Eyesight
Ability to hear, touch, smell
Ten fingers, ten toes
A roof over your head
A vehicle
Clothes to wear
Friends
Food
Loving
Being loved
Running water
Indoor bathroom
Sunrises
Sunsets…
Those are only a few examples of the hundreds you can likely come up with.
Before you want more or complain about ‘what you don’t have’ be thankful for ALL that you do have. Because if you lack gratitude for what you have, how in the world are you going to appreciate the things you want?
Are you ‘stressed’ about something? Get grateful. You cannot have both emotions at the same time.
Remember, simply being born in this country brings with it advantages that many people in the world will never experience.
Take a few minutes each day to recognize your opportunities to express gratitude.
