Welcome to Barn Musings. These weekly newsletters aim to provide you with timely, inspiring, and useful

Read Wishes Fulfilled by the late Wayne Dyer

“Part of me suspects I’m a loser,
and part of me thinks I’m God Almighty.”
— John Lennon

This is the opening quote in the book Wishes Fulfilled by the late Dr. Wayne Dyer. In the book, Dyer asks, “Are you
willing to internalize radical new ideas that require a shift in your concept of yourself?” He urges the reader to keep
in mind that all that now exists was once imagined and that what you want to exist for you in the future must now be
imagined. You are urged to take charge of your imagination. After all, anything placed in your imagination and held
there ultimately becomes your reality.

Dyer offers up the following rules for a Healthy Imagination:
Rule number one: Never place into your imagination any thought that you would not want to materialize.
Rule number two: Never allow your imagination to be contaminated by ideas about how your life used to
be. This is where your willingness to change your concept of yourself comes in.

Rule number three:  Your imagination is yours and yours alone. Never allow someone else’s ideas about
what is possible or impossible for you to occupy your imagination.
Rule number four: Do not let your imagination be restricted to the current conditions in your life. Don’t be
obsessed with what is.

Get your journal. Yes, right now.  Sit down and answer these two questions:

1. What are you most proud of about yourself? Why?
2. What do you value most in your life?

As part of Creating A Life That You Love it is essential to have a thoughtful and profound inquiry with yourself. It is
when we take the time to go inside of ourselves and reflect that we become willing to live wholeheartedly. It is essential
that you know and appreciate everything about yourself that makes you proud. It is equally as important to identify
what you value most. This is what creates the basis for your values. And, your values give you a trustworthy tool to
guide you purposefully through your life.

Enchanting = be pleasant and delightful.

As you go through your week think about ‘being’ pleasant and delightful. “Be” enchanting in your relationships with
family, friends, and work colleagues. “Be” pleasant with the barista, the produce person at the grocery store, the
mail person, the trash collector, and the cake baker. Your behavior makes a difference so spend some time being
delightful this week and see what happens.

The “Be” This: words come from the “Be”- Attitudes Kit™. I created the kit a few years ago to assist people in
carving out quiet time for themselves and to set the tone for their day. You can learn more about the kit here.

“To make the right choices in life you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to
experience solitude, which most people are afraid of because in the silence you hear the truth and know the
solutions.”
— Deepak Chopra
