Boost Your Immune System
We hear a lot of talk about masks and vaccines these days, but not much about simple ways to boost our immune system. Here are a few for you to consider:
- Get outside and move your body-go on walks in Nature. If you live close to a beach, go there and walk barefoot. Exposure to Nature is grounding and it is closely connected to your microbiome which is where 70% of your immune system lives.
- Get 15-20 minutes of direct sunshine on your body each day. Vitamin D is a strong immunity builder and it’s free.
- Eat a plant-based diet. Feed your body the nutrients it needs to thrive. This consists of foods high in fiber, vitamin D, and antioxidants.
- Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night. Our bodies need this time to recover and restore.
- Stay hydrated. Drink at least one-half your body weight in ounces of water each day.
Listen to Inspiring Podcasts
One of my favorite podcast hosts is Ed Mylett. He interviews a high-level athlete, business person, thought leader, or expert each week. This weekend I listened to his conversation with Shawn Stevenson, the author of Eat Smarter. Shawn is really smart and speaks eloquently about food and its effects on our bodies.
